Eberechi Eze fired Crystal Palace to their first ever trophy with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Palace ended their long wait for silverware and have qualified for the Europa League when Eze struck in the 16th minute before goalkeeper Dean Henderson escaped a red card for handball and then saved Omar Marmoush’s penalty in an action-packed first half.

The VAR deemed Henderson hadn’t denied a clear goalscoring opportunity when he palmed the ball away from Erling Haaland after referee Stuart Attwell had allowed play to continue.

  1. Really good and almost 100% attacking game by Manchester City. But the football side of the pitch proved that even "clumsy" can beat the "king". Of course, in such a tense game, the penalty kick must be left to the most experienced player. I believe that KDB would have happily put it in. But still. MC showed a very good and attacking game. Despite the final result, MC is a much higher level team than the ball boys who won the cup today.

  2. Newcastle winning a trophy after more than half a century defeating Liverpool
Palace winning their first ever major trophy defeating City
Bologna winning their first trophy in decades defeating Milan
Harry Kane breaking the trophy curse (and still getting a plate🤣🤣🤣)
    16th and 17th position teams in a european final ( especially Tottenham🤣🤣🤣)
GOAT carrying betis to a european final whereas Mighty Spanish teams failing to do so
    Unpredictable UCL FINAL

This is the closest season we've had to 2004 ( where Arsenal won the PL🤣🤣🤣)

  3. Eze so good. This is why this cup is so great, moments like this. Pep is such a little baby, you would think all that money and all those trophies would make him a little more gracious in defeat, but instead his true colours come out.

  4. It was great to see palace win, but I really don’t understand how the keeper wasn’t shown a red card. I’m glad he wasn’t and he had a brilliant game.. but VAR once again stinks of corruption.

  5. Football won, however Dean Henderson should have been sent off, because Haaland would have scored if not for Dean swiping the ball with his hands outside of the area and not called by the ref,nor v a r which is atrocious ,it encourages cheating
