  1. Arsenal fans & football fans in general don't realise how WELL my club, manager & all staff have done this season by getting to the semi-final of the champions league & being 2nd ALL season with all the MAJOR injuries we've had & still got! To SO MANY of our starting lineup & best/ most important players! We've been without a striker for about 6 months or more & still wont have one by the end of this season! We've been missing White & Tomiyasu the WHOLE season & both are top quality defenders when fully fit! Jesus & Havertz have both been out from about 6 months ago & will not be back this season!  Literally ALL our players have been out for LONG periods of time throughout this season with major or recurring injuries, the only players who haven't been out injured is Raya & Saliba! As far as I can remember & the Spuds WILL NOT win the Europa league final Man United WILL in Jesus name amen! COYG 😍
Gooner family if you all listen CAREFULLY to what our manager's saying you'll see he's speaking the absolute, from an elite level mentality & he's STILL a real G! For example Arteta says "he doesn't like reaction as he prefers action"! As he KNOWS we shouldn't have been loosing 2-0 to Liverpool & I'm VERY happy we came back against the champions & got a draw with 10 men!

  2. What does it mean "don't appear bigger than the club"? I am sure every player think about themselves and their personal results. It does not mean they don't have respect for the club and they don't recognise they owe the club everything or a lot. Even he was leaving against a fee, the supporters would not accept it still.

  3. Trent didn't get booed in that game just because he's leaving. It's because he announced it just after we won the league. He could have done it earlier and taken some stick but I don't think he'd have been booed. He could've stayed quiet and gone in the summer. Instead Trent chose to announce his departure just after Liverpool have celebrated a league win with the fans for the first time in 35 years. Why do anything to sour the mood when the fans are on a high?

  4. Arsenal fan totally get why the Liverpool fans booed Trent. The dream is to play football and win trophies for the team you support. He has that with Liverpool. Liverpool just won the Prem. He has gone to Madrid for the money. How do you do that as a fan. Could have been a leg end at Liverpool.

  5. I’m a Liverpool fan, so not a Gary Neville fan by any stretch of the imagination. But nothing he said here is wrong about Trent.

Trent’s made his decision (and it is his decision) but he can’t have his cake and eat it too. He’s Scouse, so either he’s fell far from his roots or has some real divvies in his ear who told him it would be all sunshine and roses when he left.

Kane left Spurs after signing a new contract, got his club £100m (and I bet that contract wasn’t the 300k a week Trent was offered).

The only reason Trent didn’t do the same Madrid had told him two years ago they wouldn’t pay for him. So he ran his contract down to get the move. Fair play, but this makes the reaction he got justified. You’re an idiot or just hate Liverpool if you think otherwise.

  6. It's not the fact that Trent is leaving which upsets Liverpool fans. It's the way that he's done it, by running his contract down to leave no compensation for losing a good player.

In addition, there is a perception that Real Madrid make the most of these types of transfer, which suggests that some level of 'shenanigans' might go on behind the scenes to create these conditions.

  7. Joshua Zirkzee: Booed by Manchester United fans during a Premier League match against Newcastle United on December 30, 2024, due to his underperformance.

Emmanuel Eboue: Booed by Arsenal fans during a Premier League match against Wigan Athletic on December 6, 2008, after a disastrous performance.

Lionel Messi: Booed by Paris Saint-Germain fans during a Ligue 1 match against Lyon on April 2, 2023, after Paris Saint-Germain's poor performance in the UEFA Champions League.

Harry Maguire: Booed by England fans during an international friendly against Ivory Coast on March 29, 2022, despite his importance to the team.

Granit Xhaka: Booed by Arsenal fans during a Premier League match against Crystal Palace on October 27, 2019, due to his poor form and controversial decisions.

Neymar: Booed by Paris Saint-Germain fans during a Ligue 1 match against Bordeaux on March 13, 2022, after a poor performance.

Philippe Coutinho: Booed by Barcelona fans during a La Liga match against Getafe on May 12, 2019, due to his underperformance and the team's poor form.

Gareth Bale: Booed by Real Madrid fans during a La Liga match against Getafe on April 9, 2022, due to his poor form and high transfer fee.

Raheem Sterling: Booed by Chelsea fans during an FA Cup match against Leicester City on March 17, 2024, due to his poor performance and missed penalty.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Booed by Manchester United fans during a Premier League match against Brighton on August 7, 2022, due to his perceived decline in form.

Get over it. It's noise, not a projectile.

  8. Liverpool fans are just a bunch of punks. Even Peter and Gary sitting way up in the stands were too scared to talk about the truth how Liverpool fans behaved like you have to have been born and brought up in the region! What a dumb excuse. You don't own the club, you don't own the ground, and you certainly don't own the staff and players. You ain't bigger than Real Madrid, you ain't the biggest club in Britain. All you have is the boo boo boys and the threat and intimidation of attacking black players if they don't walk your walk.

  9. I understand where Mikel was coming from re: ‘we’re the best team in the competition’. It took PSG a shinned effort from Dembele and a MOTM performance from their keeper in the first leg to win 1-0. Second leg, a mix of fortunate and world class saves from the keeper again in the second leg and huge deflection off of Saliba for their goal.

  10. Everyone's saying Liverpool have been the most consistent side in the league this season, but no one's saying we've been BETTER than everyone else.

Arsenal haven't lost the title because Liverpool have been more consistent, they've lost the title because we've been BETTER, all season long, end of discussion.

  11. So your trying to tell me that if Beckham ran his contract down, not sure if hes going to sign, then with 3 weeks to go before the end of the season, went for a free…….that a section of the UTD support wouldnt boo? Yeah ok😂

  12. Trent deserves everything he gets. He's said many things in the past that have proven to be empty words and false promises but, more recently, he's made misleading comments right from the start of the season, always knowing full well what he was going to do. He talked about seeing if LFC could 'match his desire for success this season' before any decision would be made, probably thinking Slot wouldn't do anything in his first season and that could somehow then justify a decision that, in reality, had long since been made. And to call moving to Madrid (who play in one of the most uncompetitive leagues in the world) a 'challenge' is beyond ludicrous. It's Trent that's embarrassing – treating Liverpool's fanbase like a bunch of idiots. We would have more respect for him if he spoke honestly and stopped with the lies and deceit.

What's more, he's keen to state 'it's not about the money' and yet he's walked away on a free. See what Jack Grealish did for Villa when he wanted to move to a so-called 'bigger' club and it genuinely wasn't about the money. In the summer of 2020, Grealish could have chosen to run down the final year of his contract at Villa but no, he did things slightly differently or, one might say, the right way and showed absolute respect for the club that nurtured him from being a 6-year old child. Jack signed a 5 year contract and, less than a year later, City paid £100m for him.

Whether we like it or not football is business and, if the FFP regulations do their job, clubs at the top of the Premier League have to generate incredible levels of income to compete with the likes of Madrid initially in the transfer market and then, hopefully, on the pitch. TAA had a reported market value of c£70m and that has gone up in smoke. Or, more likely, into an over-inflated signing-on fee because, you know, how's anyone supposed to get by on a measly £250,000pw? Thanks Trent. Lifelong fan, really?

Also, look back to how Keegan went about leaving when he wanted a new 'challenge'. He, like Grealish, did things the right way. He was upfront and honest, telling the club and its fans in the summer of 1976 that 1976/77 would be his last season. The fans respected his honesty and Liverpool took a, then, British record transfer fee of £500,000 that allowed the club to reinvest to British record levels in an attempt to replace Keegan's talent. As history shows, they did just that but only thanks to having half a million in the bank – the vast majority of which was used to sign Dalglish from Celtic. Oh, and guess who the Celtic fans booed when Dalglish returned to Celtic Park for Jock Stein's testimonial match in August 1978.

Trent is no better than Owen and McManaman before him. He's screwed the club over financially AND consistently misled its fan base. If you're going to be stupid enough to send him out at Anfield then don't be surprised when he is treated the way he was yesterday.

Playing him shouldn't even be on the Agenda now. He is not Liverpool's future… I wouldn't even have him in the match day squad for the next 2 games. I was there yesterday and fully understood Bradley being taken off because he'd just picked up a yellow for a pretty crude foul and, as we saw later, the Referee wasn't going to be afraid to show a Red during the game. Why bring TAA on though? It was a stupid decision. Why not Quansah? Slot got that wrong but hopefully he won't make the same mistake again.

Retain TAA's contract to prevent him playing in the World Club Championships for Madrid and throw him in the Reserves until he's able to walk out of the door on his precious free.

He could have been a Gerrard but, now, he's a nothing and absolutely deserves everything he gets from the fans.

  13. I don't understand some of the responses here. Neville was pretty neutral about the whole trent booing thing. In fact he sounded like he understood the fan response more than being critical of it.

  14. Trent is entitled to move on for a fresh challenge in his career. When I left many companies for a fresh start and a better salary, I don't ever remember getting booed by my old work colleagues and boss. Liverpool fans that burn shirts and boo are childish tw*ts.

  15. I knew Gary would be on his high horse about the TAA booing, his anti Liverpool agenda has been disgraceful over the last year, he kept banging on about how good Arsenal were in the second half, no Liverpool were so so poor, the first half was like a testimonial the leagues done and you could see Liverpool just weren't that interested in the game.
