He’s going to a worse team.
He's a human before a footballer. If this isn't overhyped drama, it's a bunch of selfish, overobsessed men. Smh
Madrid didn't pay for him also have out him on a lower wage. Sound like bench warmer material
No mention what so ever that he's blatantly run down his contract, selfishly to attain more money, when he could of left a prior year and made the club easily 80 million plus.
even Kane sign a contract before moving on to Bayern so I thin you never walk alone ,,,,,but maybe Arnold are walking alone after this..
Be funny if its Villa, coz we all know how much Carra hates Villa.
He's cost the club millions in wages and development.
Why does everyone care that hes leaving on a free??? Is it your money???
Why can’t you be happy for him and wish him all the best, he didn’t cost the club money, served for years and won everything for the club. He should be sent off with a party not all these mixed comments. Way to go TA! 🎉
'own decision' – his father and brother have financial interests in him – family now independent financially from him & his move to Spain. This is what they needed, not what Trent needed. It's sad to see a guy torn up by this move. Money, the route of all evil.
Problem is it was never his dream to play for Madrid he’s made every single interview sound disingenuous how he wants to play for Liverpool for his whole career he wants to captain the club it was all lies and shows that he lacks honesty
When you consider the money these players have and the lifestyle it affords them….Live in Liverpool or Madrid. Hmm…let me think!
Thousands upon thousands of kids are released by clubs every year. Where's the furore over that? Oh, I'm sorry, football fans only care about a player leaving if he's judged to be a 'top player'. If he's not a 'top player' then his loyalty is unwanted.
Arnold is a great crosser when he steps up but he can't back to defend very well ,Liverpool is Liverpool is not going to wait for any player who ever.We have good loanees and The Academy kids are waiting for their debuts.
Giving 20 years of your life to any organisation and getting hate for moving on is crazy
Good for Trent, he wants a fresh challenge and play where it'll be a bit warmer…can't fault him
TAA can be upgraded…watch and find out
I don't envisage him being a success….Chelsea in 2 years
Get over it 🙄, he's a grown-up and wants to explore the world whether it works out for him or not. He will never live with regret that he never tried elsewhere.
After being spanked by real madrid like 5 times in last 7-8 ucl seasons, trent knows where he's going to win trophies!
Taa confirmed that he's smart.
good luck to Trent won the lot with us
Didn’t Real offer £40m in January and Liverpool turned it down? Seems like the club’s fault to me.
There is another side to the argument that Trent leaving for free is bad. If Trent left last summer for a transfer fee, Liverpool wouldn't have had Trent for this season. As always, he's played lots of games this season and has 9 G/A in the league. Would the transfer fee have been worth more than Trent's services this season?
Breaking news
Players are allowed to play for other teams,
Shake his hand, thank him for all he's done for the club and wish him well
Hes done the club like a kipper
Become a Liverpool legend or go to real. Come on Jamie you are not living in the real world mate. Liverpool is not real Madrid. It never has been and never will be. It's a life changing incredible experience going to real. Not everyone HAS to stay. Some players like Trent are wanted and should definitely go. He has done it all at Liverpool. Jamie you had to stay because you were not in the same league I'm afraid. Just as Liverpool are not in the same league in terms of size and brilliance as real.
It will probably end in tears
If jude wasn’t at Madrid TRENT wouldn’t be going
Trent has earned the right. He's won everything with Liverpool. That's said, loyalty and integrity are in short supply here. He could of signed an extension so at least Liverpool could of gotten a fee for him of some kind. Or he could of stayed and become one of the few true Liverpool legends at the end of his career. Disappointing how it all played out but nobody can begrudge him the move I guess.
I love how Jamie just thinks that because he never wanted to play anywhere else, that means every other scouser should also want to stay in the same city for their entire life and career and never leave.
Why? He's a free agent, it was up to the club to tie him down, they didn't so move on, speaking as a Liverpool fan, i wish him all the best, onward and upward!
To think, all this time in Toy Story, when Woody said "There's a snake in my boot!" …he was referring to Trent, there was a Trent in his boot 👢
bro he's one everything with liverpool now he's bored let him go that's how players fall out of love with the game
Liverpool made big mistake.
2024, they can give 2 year contract to Arnold.
This summer 1 year balance contract and they can sell to real by 35m
But now sending a good player without any fee
I'm not from England, but I'm a Liverpool fan. If given the choice between Liverpool (favourite club) and Real Madrid (the biggest club in the world), I would choose to stay with Liverpool—especially considering the current status of both clubs.
They knew the day the contract was signed the day it expired
Liverpool have had years to plan for it
Jamie Carragher get over it! Disgusted how he keeps bashing on Trent.
Liverpool are more rivals with Bayern than R Madrid in that sense. Madrid has far more European titles than Liverpool
Not getting a single penny for your local boy is harsh
Trent must do what I want, not what he wants to do.
Bellingham proves that Madrid are floundering, because Trent is moderate at best.
🔴 Trent Alexander-Arnold is leaving on a free—and it's entirely the club's fault. They had more than enough time to show they valued him, to tie him down, and pay him what he's worth. They refused. Now we’re seeing the consequences.
As for Carragher, he needs to be quiet. He’s doing too much lately. He doesn’t understand because, truthfully, he wasn’t a player of Trent’s calibre—so he can’t relate. His constant digs are becoming toxic, and it feels like he's trying to turn the fans against Trent. That’s cowardly.
What makes it worse is that Carragher pretends to be a Liverpool loyalist, but deep down, we all know he’s an EVERTONIAN. Leave Trent alone! 🔴
It might not be that deep. What if he just prefers the weather in Spain?
I blame the club for not tying him down to some sort of contract that would have a release clause. The club knew the type of contract he was on and it’s criminal they have let this happen. Sheer complacency. I wish Trent well at Real Madrid. Liverpool FC will move on.
Trent is a free man and Carragher don' t like the freedom, idiot 😩👎
Ohh yea Carra is a good role model to question the decisions and behaviour of other players. Hypocrite.
I'm a Licerpool fan, not from Liverpool so I don't really understand, but I have no issue with Trent's move. He cost Liverpool nothing, but it's unfortunate they didn't get a big fee for him. Totally understandable that he cannot turn down this oppotunity, after 20 years with the Pool. Won the lot, and he has nothing left to prove at the club really. Don't agree with Jamie that Real are a real adversary or rival in Europe. Real have 15 European Cups, versus Liverpool's 6…get real!! Liverpools rivals are very much domestic. Best of luck to Trent. Wishing him all the best with his move, off to the sun, and to the biggest club in the world.
